When I had a petrol engined boat, I ran the blower for about 5 mins before starting the engine (just to be on the safe side!). You could fit a system which wouldn't allow you to start the engine until the blowers had been running for a certain time, but this could be frustrating if you wanted to do a number of frequent stop-start manouevres. You could wire a relay, as already suggested, so that the blowers run when the engine's running, just in case you forget to turn them on. But I think you just need to get into a routine.

I'm no electrical expert, but it should be possible to feed them through a relay from the ignition switches. Then you turn the key 5 mins before starting up to ventilate, and blowers will stay on as long as key is operated. i.e. until you stop the engines.

Rather than wire the relay to the positive of the alternator, wire it to the ignition (live when switched on) terminal. As suggested, turn on ignition a few minutes before start up. With this method you could do away with the relay and wire the fan direct with an "in-line" fuse. You may have to up rate the ignition fuse depending on what amperage your fan will draw.
