Bikers and motorboaters

I'm a born again - returned to biking 5 years ago with an old (very) Hardly Dangerous. Since then, have had a VFR and now a Pan. Sadly need something that I can ride sat bolt upright these days, so sports bikes are out.

Fancy another big HD though - anyone got one for sale?

Not exactly....but in support of your theory

Alas I have not biked on anything better than a Go-Ped. But the controlling shareholder of http://www.Dorna.com (I mean the MotoGP business, not the blimmin website) is totally boat-mad, has been sailing on our boat, used to have a fairline corniche in Moody's on the Hamble and now has a sunseeker in Cap D'Ail and a nice sailboat. I dont think this counts me as a biker but it sort of supports your bike-boat theory (a bit)?

Ooh! the SS50 - forgot, I started with one of those- did yours still have the pedals? ever try using them? !!

My last but one was a BSA Rocket 3, a proper bike !!!! But that was a previous life!!
And finally a Suzuki 550GT, S**t Why did I get married?????????

man made it ,man can repair it, i think??

In that case I definetly qualify in the vein department, and I have HT leads, but not sure what this brain thing is - where do you normally keep it?

Yes it did have pedals, that had a turning diameter of what seemed like about 4ft! Impossible to use.

They were more villified that bayliners on this forum, by the Fizzy, and Gilera 2 stroke owners, but after you'd sawn off the top of the throttle slide in the carb, they could keep up at top end.

At least in true Honda fashion, they were reliable, the 2 stroke mob were always burning holes in their pistons.

Perhaps all us super moped riders from the mid 70's should scan and post a photo or two. What could be more embarrasing!

I can here Jasper Carrott singing 'Funky Moped' as I type.

My first bike was a James Captain, complete with horsehair stuffed saddle. 2nd bike rode was a Vincent 1000 across a farmers field. Tried to turn it at the end, paddling, dropped it & just couldnt pick it up again. I was 16 and weighed about 7st. Used to ride Triumph 500cc singles in the Army for fun.

As an aside, one of the brothers who owns our boatyard, has a Vincent Black Shadow, which he still rides most days if it is dry, and a BSA 500, and I think a Matchless as well.

My God, I was 52 yesterday. Does it show??

I had 2 bikes ,
1, one with peddles that was great down hill but hard work up.
2. Suz.... 125x 4 strock, black. great when moving but if I stopped and it started to tip, down it went[ it was heavey],

This is the sum of my biking. Now Horses that different !!!!!!!!

Me! I got a licence at 18 and did a bit of despatching to earn beer money at uni; gave it up after 6 months when a collegue got seriously pureed by HGV. Not owned a bike since. Have been tempted several times to get a chicken chaser or a Enfield to scratch about the local area on, but never got enough cash to do it with.

sigh!
