Special big thanks to

MDL, especially Jon Eads, for sponsoring the event, and providing free berths etc

Ian Ainge - largely responsible for sorting food, marquee details, etc with Oyster Quay

Martin Woolwich, Lee-Ann and family, for the badge registration site, making the wonderful badges again this year, and then spending the better part of the evening handing them out!

Debbie Burns and her team. MDL Mercury. who not only spent ages corresponding with me about fitting everyone in, and making the berthing side of things happen, but who also help in setting up tables and lots of other stuff.

Mike Ellis and his team at Oyster Quay who provided the food and bar, and bent over backwards to make the finances and numbers all work, and provided great food yet again.

Everyone who sent cheques for the Hamble Lifeboat charity we were supporting with this event. Final numbers when we've got all the cheques in, and totted up, but it looks very encouraging.

and of course to Kim, who collected cheques etc, and by running these forums, made it all possible in the first place!

We second all that Brendan but should add a big thanks to YOU !!!

It does amaze me that a group of bods who generally initially met on the net can have such a great time and all share a common interest.

We really enjoyed ourselves and it was also good to meet so many people that we had not met before and the only shame was that we were unable to speak as many people as I had intended but then there is always next year.......

Thanks again to all and I am really looking foreward to seeing folk around on the Solent this summer.

Nick

Thanks for us too, we had a great time and had fun putting the real faces to the names, funny how right we were with what we thought some would look like and how wrong we were with others!!

We had a great time and hope to see loads of you in the coming season out and about!!

Re: Miffed of Fleetwood

Can you all decist from saying how much you all enjoyed the Mercury Meet. It all sounds wonderful but far too far away for some of us...

Can you have the next one somewhere in the North! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

<hr width=100% size=1>Tomsk -

What the hell... it's only money!

Brendan - we echo what others have already said. i.e. a big thank you to you and all who put together the Meet. It was a great evening, and well worth the trip from Florida/forums/images/icons/smile.gif, even if the weather wasn't quite what we are used to.
And thank you to Jon Bailey for the "new bathroom" and light pipe and for the ride to and from the Meet - very interesting and bracing!!
I took a lot of piccies, but unfortunately I had to leave my laptop in the US 'cos it broke and I can't get the piccies out the camera.

Many thanks to all those folks involved, including yourself Brendan. Our mob had a great time and we all thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone.

I'd like to scotch all rumours that bigmart (I think? it was hazy at that point) and I were talking about ditch-crawling. We'd leave that sort of talk to Haydn /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
