Hi all, I am looking at several sports cruises in the 42-43 foot area with shaft drive and they seem to mostly have TAMD 74 or 75 motors, I have one on my radar which has the 430hp TAMD73 but cant find much info on this engine other than it seemed to have a short 2year prod run from what I have managed to find, which is scant!
They are all the EDC varient but could someone explain the differences mainy between the 73 and 74?
Should I avoid the 73 or treat it as a 74?
I understand the 74 can come in the same 430hp and also 480hp and that the 75 is most def 480hp
This would be my first forray into the world of shaft drive boats having had outdrives all the last 20 boating years.
Any info on the specifics of my questions would be great and very very welcome as would any other info and advice re these motors.
I get they will be less efficient burn more fuel too but I am most definately lookng for less out of the water time and overall work to keep things running right. So before I take the S.H.A.F.T plung on these monster blocks all and any help and advice would be gratefully recieved
Many thanks in great anticipation
