BUT on your Ribnet 'advertisment' (see below) you say up to 30%, so what's the problem with putting that on here, seems a bit daft to me.

"Huge Discounts
up to 30% off the new Volvo D-series diesel engines plus

free lift out
free hard standing
free lift in
free sea trial and checkover

and even better NO VAT !!!!!

pm or emails to depsol@msn.com only please if interested

Thanks

Dom"

Cor Depsol, your a bit touchy today aren't you. He's only pointing out a discrepancy in your post, I'm sure he doesn't mean any harm.

Now tell me a bit more about this VAT swindle!

VAT

Ahem depsol, you are correct that no VAt paid in Gsy but of course, strictly speaking, one should pay VAT when boat returns to UK waters. I mean, that's what the law says, so take care :)

Re: VAT

that is not down to me I am afraid just passing on a discount. How many of you have bought stuff in the CI VAT free and never claimed.

Counted about 28 English boats today having work done I am sure they arent claiming for..... but yes you are right.

Sorry I have been away up in Scotland with Rugby and have just flown back or would have answered earlier. I am just surprised that do you not only blatantly use the forum and others for your own 'business purposes', but don't seem to explain, up front, to potential non the wiser punters, that they have a duty to declare the purchase for tax purposes when they return to the UK, that makes your discount not so good as it may first seem (if done the legal way). As for being an internet policeman, well I don't see a problem with that, somebody has to protect society /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

You can evade the VAT legally, I have, I just bought one of the new 40gb ipod's at Dixons tax free in Edinburgh airport for £339 instead of £400 in the high street, now that was a bargain (can also be used as an external hard drive) /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Sorry but I didn't see any Volvo Penta engines there /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: VAT

All understood Depsol, i know what you mean. Yes I have probably forgotten a few things bought in CI. Just making the forum looks ...ahem.... tidy in case the internet police drop by :)

Dont be a fool. I do not profit from this otherwise if I was it would not be such a good deal. I have been given this opportunity and cant take it up so as it is open between now and Feb I am offering the chance for some lucky forumites if they were interested and serious about sticking a new diesel in (you need not apply I said serious) then they could benefit from this. As for the VAT situation who cares 17.5% on the much reduced price is still saving you more.

If the egine was £10k in UK add vat £11750 if it was £5k in CI then add vat £5875 so pay the VAT if you want to but you are still saving on the deal and the less you pay the less vat you pay. Gees someone on here told me you werent stupid but I find it hard to beleive.

As for your post in the first place so what if I put it differently on another forum, I am quite sure the guys and girl on here arent really interested in that. Another typically boring and time wasting post from you to add to the other drivel you usually put n here.

Before you came along sucking up all the posts in this forum we used to have good old fashined flaming. Well its back, consider yourself flamed.
