Interestingly, when I was assisting Tillergirl with his refuel yesterday, a black rib approached us as we were leaving, looking like police, or border force, but labelled "fisheries patrol"

It was Vigilant ? FPV Vigilant - Kent & Essex IFCA

Yep - we caught one just south of Medusa buoy on the 15th July.... Sailing at the time, so fortunately didn't take too long to disentangle

It is off the Naze, junction between the Wallet and the Medusa channel to Harwich

I don’t think HHA have any responsibility for the area around Medusa, it is well out of the main shipping lanes. They don’t however appear to do anything about ones that are in the Harbour from time to time, although again not actually in the channel where I am sure they would be swiftly dealt with.

Saw a POLICE RIB on the Orwell yesterday for the first time in years!

Are those the ones that are handily placed on the recommended yacht track?

Yes, I saw those ones on the way in!

It encourages a sharp lookout and sailing rather than motoring. Oh, and that cutter on the shaft is looking like a good investment.

Going out at night becomes a lottery!
