I sailed engineless sailing boats on the Broads for many years and commented on it in another thread. The best fun was a thirty-something foot four-berth Lady class, with which we could occupy vast tracts of water. Catching another sailing boat tacking was usually relatively easy since I generally had more skill, being used to racing Fireflies, but if push came to shove you always had the consolation that it wasn't your own property. Its game over if you catch up with another sailboat working to windward as you'll never get past. Stop for sandwiches instead!
