Beta gearbox and bulb baster?

I need to change the ATF in a Beta 20. I was thinking that a cook's bulb baster could tell me how much I have removed and thence how much I have to put back in (I overfilled it the first time). Anyone used one? Is it able to be inserted down into the gearbox? Or is there a better tool available?

A large(horse?) syringe perhaps?

If it's the TMC40 gearbox, it takes only 200ml of automatic transmission fluid. This is easily drained out if you remove the drain plug. Access is ok for me. If you drain into a small plastic bottle you can easily measure what you've removed. Filling up, I use a similar plastic bottle to measure up the same quantity. If I recall, the drain plug is on the port side.
