Beta 20HP problem

I am looking for advice on how to dismantle the heat exchanger section of a Beta BD722 engine. I have followed the instructions in the manual but the end caps won't budge even after WD40 and hitting them with a hammer via a wooden drift. Has anyone had the same problem and solved it?

Tried that. Tried what he suggested. No progress.

I was advised by a dealer to do this every two seasons due to dismantling problems if left for too long.

Don't have an answer for you, except try calling a dealer who has to cope with this sort of thing regularly.

WD40 isn't really intended to be a lubricant - its a Water Dispersant (WD).

How about trying a proper penetrating oil?
