Someone in the South of England is going to get a very nice chrissie present from their son.
He collected it from me today.

Bye bye Heron

I'm surprised you could bring yourself to sell it.

Surprised? After all the blatant advertising on this forum?

The only surprise is the picture doesn't have a scantily clad woman photoshopped into it.

I've had my fun from it. I overdid the restoration and it's all downhill now. Every time I launch it or sail it up onto the shore I have nightmares about the paint getting scratched.
The next project is a small trimaran on a "How cheap can I do it?" and "I'm not bothered about the looks" basis.
I don't want it to take over as I still have my little 18ft boat to play with.
This is the basic material

Sounds like one ton cup sailing race we had here a few years ago. The participants could spend 1000 fim (= 110 GBP) to buy material and they had 3 hours time to build a boat. Then they had to sail 1000 meters and the first to cross the line was the winner , no rating numbers if you spent less less money /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

lucky Lad /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I hope his dad makes him maintain it properly.I remember as a small boy being trusted to undercoat the family dinghy. All went well until cleaning out the brush I didnt notice that I had inadvertantly flicked paint/thinners all over next doors car /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The old git next door just couldnt accept that just because it was pink undercoat the pink bits on the car didnt have to be my fault /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You see. How you mock.
In fact he found it via boatsandoutboards.
I didn't need to put a scantily clad bird in the pic as he brought his foxy girlfriend with him. But you can't see that. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

He reckoned he'd been doing 80-85 all the way up from the deepest South East.
I reckon that makes him an Honoury White-Van-Man.

I hope he wasn't going that quick on the way home. Herons aren't used to those velocities.
