Best way to remove paint from grain

I have recently removed the paint from an area which had been painted for some time, there are still fine particles of paint in the grain. I have tried paint remover and other methods, does anyone now of the best way to remove even the finest particles of paint before I varnish.

Paint stripper/heat gun and a fine wire brush (suede brush is ideal), it will shift it, but you will need to sand the timber quite a lot afterwards. Good luck.
