Gezzer's posting below has reminded me .

I have an Avon Red? something. I have no handbook and would appreciate how to fold it as small as possible. The black rowlocks seem to thwart my efforts.

Also the black rubber rowlocks are leaving black marks on my lovely chalky white topsides. Very hard to get off. Is there something I could treat them with to stop it happening ?

Many Thanks to all who respond.

Wife swears by CIF for cleaning the dinghy and between us we manage to fold ours up small enough for single handed carrying by using the footpump to pull the air out of it. The two tail sections really collapse well using the pump.

Roll from the ends to the centre to expel the air, unroll it again and fold the two end thirds in over the middle third then roll it up from one side to the other. If you have the old type valves its wise not to leave the deflating gadget in the valves.

Coelan and Baby Powder

I seem to remember that the long lost manual for mine said something about dusting it with talcum powder when packing it away dry.

A dab of Coelan will sort out the black rubber marks problem, and cheer up old fenders too - it is expensive stuff and a very small tin will do.
