I've had truly excellent service from Piplers of Poole mail order, they have a much bigger mail order outfit than one might think.

I believe you ask too much, how (for instance) can you expect the experience of Jimmy Green in what they excell at and M.E.S. in what they excel at in the same place with the volume of business avalable in the UK, it just is not there. Better to use appropriate suppliers for the range you seek. You will never find a one stop place with the breadth and depth of knowlege and stock in UK, if you were US based then West Marine might be as close as you would get to your needs but even then better to visit their physical stores. All IMHO of course.

+100%, having imported from the States such as (Shadetree), on more than one occasion.
My first port of call is Marine Chandlery on Tyneside who offer consistently competitive prices
and have a good mix of inhouse experience.
PS and Claire is a lovely lass.
