Best stainless steel cleaner?

+1 Spotless stainless

If you haven't used it before, brush on and rinse off.
It might not get it all, depends on condition.
Fast acting and on most stainless it will make a big difference.

Far easier to get into all the nooks and crannies with gel on a brush, rather than polish on a cloth.
Of course it won't be the same as correcting the stainless surface and polishing back to new, but it will have decent results in a fraction of the time.

The main benefit is the removal of rust spots, but it also has protective layer that is left on the stainless.
Not cheap, but very cost effective, certainly the best product for stainless by a long way IMHO.

SWMBO did our entire cat with it with a one-inch paint brush in April in about an hour and it still looks great.

Best not to use abrasive products or cleaners on polished stainless steel - unless trying to remove scratches .

I find Bar Keepers Friend Power Cream is good at removing tarnish and any slight rust stains with little effort (also removes stains off GRP). I have seen cheap lemon cream cleaner used with good results. I also heard Coca Cola is effective.

Another vote for Peek.

Just used it 0n some badly corroded stainless light surrounds. Worked a treat.

If you are using any cleaner with an abrasive content and/or no residual polish, try smearing the polished surface with baby oil (apply with a cloth or kitchen paper). It will delay the recurrence of rust spots. Also works well on anodised spars.

Any wax polish helps.
Putting some oil or wax on spars can help slow down corrosion between the ali and the fittings too.

+1 for Astonish... Some numpty previous owner had stuck vinyl all over Gladys' cockpit, and it was peeling off. We removed it and Astonish did a brilliant job of cleaning up the glue residue!

Just dont use it om your anodised mast. Instead simply use wax. Remember your not cleaning to make it shinny your waxing (after soapy wash) to slow down the corrosion.
