Best Place for boat graphics

Yep funky monkey have made stuff for me from jpegs that I've emailed them - they aren't limited to a set of standard fonts. Excellent firm, always my first port of call. The owner reads on here and is a very nice helpful guy. He met me in Lymington once and stuck the decals on (skilfully) himself!
 
Yep +1 for FunkyMonkey, although their vinyl lasted about 5 years in the UK before needing replacing.

I have also used TechStainless, and now of course Pete can make up high quality SS lettering too.

For the last boat I sent some PDF's of the graphics I wanted done and they were printed and I had them in a few days.. For the current boat the turn around was even faster..

There are different grades of vinyl, you can get them that are guaranteed for 7 years for not a lot more money, I have always used local sign makers, there's a choice of about 3 where I'm based who are all good.

Try and avoid JPEG's any other raster fonts is possible as they won't scale. Use Adobe Illustrator or other vector formats.
 
Too late now but for future reference go to your local van graphics/sign people, they will take a .pdf or jpg file and produce it for less than half the price of a marine sign shop. Same materials. This is mine, Verdana font and colour to match my hull colour.

Well about a month ago I put a post on under items for sale which was removed, my wife has just started a business doing this, we have a vinyl cutter and all the equipment.

Vinyl comes in many varieties from cheap short lasting to waterproof, sparkling ones as well. For boat names you really need to stick you need the marine vinyl as it won't be effected by a lot of water. Standard cheap stuff won't last.

On the advert I put to gain experience she would do many boat names at cost to get used to it, but it was taken down before anyone replied.
 
Just had mine done by Elite Signs in Poole. Wide choice of fonts and colours. Quick delivery and instructions for application included.

I agree they are good i used them before i bought my machine i can now do marine grade graphics or standard graphics and half their cost, a typical boat name from them say 130mm high x 946 wide ive had a quote in single standard vinyl came out at £21 plus £4.50 postage, thats a small size but i would do that posted for half that price, so if you double that size and order 2 its a few pounds off. Marine grade is slightly more but wont come off unless you want it too.
