Best navigation app for android tablet

I have a new Samsung android, 8" GT-N5120, and it is surprisingly good in bright sunlight - need to take sunglasses off sometimes, but much better than older devices.

We have a Garmin 4008 with g2 charts and over the year there been many a time we have came across reefs and small island which are not on the there charts , I have complained to Garmin may a time with out any really out come , they did once say I could have a new chart once in was up dated a year later , one year later after installing the new chart , guess what , still the reefs and island I discover wasn't there before we're still not on the chart , we now use navionics on an IPad , much better charts , lots more details and e missing reefs and island are all shown , and it far more cheaper then the Garmin charts and more accurate on the track .

We use MX Mariner on a HUDL tablet from Tesco as a back up and it works great! Shame they don't cover the Med

How do these devices work in bright sunlight

I have the Navionics and MX mariner.. the Navionics is certainly flashier software, and I prefer it, but I have tried three devices and I cant see a damn thing in bright sunlight. It might depend on how high and bright the sun is (and it was good weather) but I couldn't use any of them for anything at all. 2 Nexus and HTC One were the devices.

I have navionics on both a nexus7 and a nexus10.
Quite happy with the navionics package but I had to get the 10 as the 7 was a bit small for me to see. It is not very visible in bright sunlight in the open and when the screen is at full brightness it fairly eats into the battery. I have found it essential to use a pogo connector for maintaining the battery charge when using it at full brightness.
It is mounted on a hinged board inside the boat at the companion way. Both of the tablets easily store navionics.
