Best GoPro alternative?

I've just bought a GoXtreme WiFi. It comes with a view screen and all the mounts too! I was shocked at the price of a GoPro when you've added up all the bits. One of the major advantages of GoPro is the plethora of mounts, the lack of which usually lets down its rivals, but the GoXtreme can use GoPro mounts.

Spent €140 on the Goxtreme (still a hell of a lot cheaper than a GoPro!), only to find Aldi selling something similar for €39.99.............

Speaking of which, I've just received Aldi's email showing Thursday's specials, and this week it includes 2 waterproof digital cameras, one for stills, one for movies.

I just bought the SJCAM SJ4000 wifi after it was recommended here. It's flipping awesome. Total control via the iphone/ipad, great image quality. Ta.

I have splashed out (pun not intended initially) upon this (it is the 'original' not fake model):

I also have an Xacti that cost me nearly £300 (when I had a job still).

The chinese camera has been reliable, has not leaked and takes great quality HD video.

One cannot edit the movies into slow motion brilliantly (as I can with the Xacti) because the chinese model onlt takes 30fps, but it is good value for money in my opinion.
32Gb class 10 memory card and a spare battery and you are good to go (in my opinion)

edit: buying from UK costs £10 more, but camera arrives within 7 days, usually 5. It took me 3 months to get my camera from China and a lot of emails and hassle.

I was wondering about that camera.
You must have had some bad luck with banggood.
I buy lots of bits from them.
Best delivery time from Hongkong about 6 days and worst about 18.
Some items from their uk wharehouse are not much more expensive but others are and worth the wait.
Ps even more decided on it seeing lazy kippers reccomendation!

Same as this one - why wait Amazon have them in stock?

I have the identical Qumox badged model without the wifi also from Amazon. It cost an extra tenner for the 32gb sd card and car power lead.

I love the reviewers on the sjcam Amazon link.... Compaining they have been sold a fake copy of their fake copy of the gopro.....

I wonder how many moaners sent it back for a refund? At least its a minimal hassle process with Amazon.

The battery life is not brilliant, hardly surprising given the size of it, so you need to carry a couple if you aren't running it from an external power pack. I mainly use mine as a dash cam so its not an issue, and its switched on and off by the ignition so is fit and forget.

I'm wary of Aldi/Lidl stuff after a jigsaw I bought broke. Supposedly had a three year guarantee, but if there are none in the store to exchange it you're out of luck.
I got met with shrugging shoulders and "I can give you a phone number". When I called the number I got met with even more shrugging shoulders. Not impressed.

That's what they are supposed to do.... The idea being that you put all the little pieces together to match the picture on the box.

That was part of the problem. The picture on the box was of a jigsaw. Inside the box was.... a jigsaw. It said it was a jigsaw, and it had a jigsaw in it, but it wasn't a jigsaw, it was a jigsaw. I explained this to the manager and he just shrugged his shoulders
