I have just purchased at 2008 Fairline Targa 47 with D9 575s, the boat is currently in Poole but I will be moving it to Gun Wharf Quays in the next month or so.

The boat needs a good going over right away to get it into tip top condition and is also due servicing. Who would you guys recommend using to do the work? I would need maintenance and valeting companies who can work on the boat in Gun Wharf Quays. I could also get the boat to Gosport fairly easily i there is a good maintenance company there? With regards to the engine servicing I could go further afield as this will only be once each year.

I am also looking for a good company to fit bow cushions (as never fitted from new) and a diesel heating system.

You can also call on 07979 507080 - Thanks Dan

Have you bought Mr Blue Sky ? Nearly bought it myself .

I'd be ok for your engine service but not at Gunwharf.

Hi Paul,

Indeed I have. She needs a bit of work to get her into the condition I would like but we have time until the summer comes. Where are you based? Please send a contact number or call and we can have a chat.

Thanks Dan

I used 'Marine Clean' earlier this year to do the outside, above waterline, of my Princess 368 and I am happy to say they did a great job. She a 92' boat and they really did take years off her :)

Not a motorboater but based at Haslar in Gosport. On engines I assume you wish to avoid using the services of volvo engineers based at port Solent with their high charges . A number of Haslar owners used Malcolm Morling for engine work who also does heating if not Eber .Gosport boat yard will no doubt be able to collect from Gunwharf and lift out and anti foul and polish etc . For any dents and gelcoat repairs excellent local man who often does work at yard but independent contractor. For interior soft items maybe have a word with Tecsew also in Gosport as a starter . Again Tecsew have fitted on a number of Haslar boats and did excellent cushions and covers for us which fit unlike some other local companies in the canvas supply business which should be avoided.i believe the Haslar yacht club have a number of Motor boats members so no doubt might know more as to valeting services in area as a number use valeting services there

VolvoPaul without hesitation, he expertly assisted me when I bought my T47 last year

Good luck with your new boat , they're fantastic but I am biased

Feel free to give me a shout if I can help in any way

Cheers

+1for Malc the hat but he is more yacht engines than the big burners that Paul works on and I would always use Paul for those. Malc is a registered webasto installer and as you say wont touch Ebers which are tied to the main dealer. If you dont know Malcolm, he lives on board in Haslar and the office there can connect you. I think the glasser you are thinking of might be Russell Rennison. Haven't used them for this but the sealift at Haslar do antifouling and also valeting as part of their service and others might be able to give you feedback on the quality - certainly conveniently located.

Thanks guys, if you have any other contacts that would be good, I want to build up a bit of a database. Do any of you know people working out of Portsmouth too?

Yes the "glasser" was Russell . Just be aware that the sealift cannot cope with all vessels although this problem might be just limited to yachts with keels but I have heard of boats all geared up to use the sealift and having a wasted trip. Also worth mentioning Endeavour yard which might cope with larger vessels. On the Portsmouth side there is a yard which lifts out near Camber but they had a problem with cranes a few years ago so might not handle the size. Clearly Port Solent is a quick trip up harbour and will have lift and of course all services. It's not the Hamble but I sure can cope .
I had heard Malcolm the hat when he's not at Haslar is off in Med with larger engines sometimes but I have only had reports of him from other yachts and used him on yacht engines so you may be correct.
