Best brush or scrubber to clean slime off hull?

I use a floor squeegee with fender tied to it, it removes slime and barnacles. If it doesn't remove the barnacles you can feel them on second sweep. I am thinking of making angled handle for it for under the bilge.

Having read this thread I might try adding fake grass to it see how that performs.

Much depends on your hull shape.

I wouldn't get in the water with a couple of knots of tide. I would be more occupied in hanging on to the boat than cleaning the hull. I'm not the worlds best swimmer. :)
A fender on a 10m line, streamed from the bow, I can’t swim at more than 2 knots for more than 30 seconds either. It’s also only 100m to the shore. If I lost touch with the boat, I could swim at 90 deg to the current.
