I joined a rally over Easter. Ports of call were Shepards in Cowes and Port Hamble on the River Hamble.

Shepards: winter rates, as it was still March. £24 for a 27’ boat and that included power. Marvellous. Duke Of York pub: as wonderful as ever.

Port Hamble: £37 for a 27’ boat snd £47 for a 31’ boat. Shocking.. A pint of Guinness, a large glass of wine and a small glass of wine: £27.40. Unbelievable.. It wasn’t a mistake as I queried and checked the bill. Food was a little premium priced but was really well prepared.

It feels like there is a competition to see who can charge the most. Fortunately other choices are available, but fewer every year.

St Kats 2 nights with power. 12M boat. £275.00.
Prices for chain resturants on the dockside virtually same as in the real world outside.
The Dickens Pub. Round of drinks for two just under £20.00.

"Free" :ROFLMAO: bottle of decent Prosecco and nibbles on arrival and with a very acceptable little bag of goodies including a St Kats burgee on departure.
The last suit you wear does not have any pockets ?

Lymington obviously decided summer had started before the end of March as the were charging summer rates on Saturday (30th March). And toilets and showers were out of action due to a flood :(.
