This isn't about a motor boat, but I've been directed here from another thread...

My boat (Bavaria 47) is currently making the passage from Sardinia to Menorca. I'm at home trying to organise a berth for the crew to leave her in for a couple of weeks. So far I haven't had a quote of less than €100 a day for a marina berth!
Or perhaps Mallorca (Majorca) would be OK?

Can anyone suggest a place to get a "reasonably priced" berth (or secure mooring) in Menorca/ Mallorca, preferably not too far from the airport?

Try Pantalan mediteraneo or any of the other marinas in Palma harbour. We paid 110 euros per day last year for a 78' motor boat

I'm currently in menorca, mahon, paying €300++ for a 78er. There are avaialbe berths here, but not that many - it feels 90% full. I think you must kidding if you expect to park a 47 footer anywhere nice in August for <€100 a night, but I wish you well in the search!

I've recently spent 5 yrs in the Balearics and €100 a night for a 47 footer sounds quite reasonable for Menorca (Mahon?) during high season. In fact, it sounds quite cheap. I guess that isn't the Sunseeker marina. I dont think any of the marinas in Mahon will be significantly cheaper than any other. There is another marina on the north coast at Addaya http://www.sail-the-net.com/marinas/europe/spain/balearic-islands/cala-de-addaya/puerto-de-cala-de-addaya.html but last time I was there, it wasn't any cheaper than Mahon, the condition of the pontoons was poor and the electricity supply very weak.
IMHO, the best place to leave a boat in that area would be Alcudiamar marina at Alcudia on the north coast of Majorca http://www.alcudiamar.es/. I'm fairly sure it wouldn't be any cheaper than Mahon but its a full service marina with good security, which is important if you are leaving a boat unattended and Palma has better flight connections than Menorca. Apart from that, it gives you the oppurtunity to visit this restaurant http://www.mesondulcinea.com/ingles/home.htm and have one of the best Chateaubriands you will ever taste!

We were berthed in Alcudia for 6 years and also know Menorca well and I would second Deleted User's advice although you could try Bonaire marina in Pollensa Bay as, if they can accomodate your boat, it may be cheaper than the others

Like JFM suggests, €100 per night is pretty good in the area this time of year for a boat your size.

Would also second Mike's comments about Meson Dulcina.........I can taste it now

Good Luck
