beneteau build quality - whats your experience

Dufour 34.

Great performance and comfortable, I have one coming that crossed the Atlantic this year. But for a real witch look at Archambault.

I've got a Beneteau and I must say the boat's absolute crap, sails like a pig and bits fall off everytime I hit something. The eberspacher never works and the gaz is always running out .. as does the water .. don't buy one!

Another Oceanis - a 351, but I've had it since it was built, in 1998. It's seen service in the Indian ocean, although it's now safely back in the Med after an eventful return trip past the Horn of Africa. It's no racer, but likes to be pushed hard - and everything still hangs together; nothing creaks and I'd only go for another Ben.

I read this comment in a test on a Oceanis from Cruising World in the States. Might be of interest:-

"Finot and Beneteau, separately and together, have engineered a great many hulls. While it’s topical, and appropriate, to boast that a boat meets European Union requirements, the best codicil to that is Beneteau USA president Wayne Burdick’s statement to me that Beneteaus have sailed many millions of miles without a hull failure."
