Hi all, started the dreaded first boat search!!!!
Could any Antares 760 owner answer the following questions.

The width of the cockpit berth, when the seating is made into a bed ( Could two adults spend a couple of nights on it ) in other words could 4 adults weekend on one.

Has anyone ever put a couple of kitted up divers off the back, so how roomy is rear deck space and what would space be like with four fishing.

Has anyone taken theirs across the Irish Sea, or offshore cruising.

General thoughts and advice much appreciated, mainly be using the boat for coastal hopping with my wife and a dog!!!, But occasional 4-6 as a day boat and 4 adults for weekend trips.
Thanks
Tim B

My neighbor at the marina has one and has taken from The Clyde to Ireland and round the inner Hebrides a few times so no issue re the Irish Sea assuming of course you choose your weather. 4/6 on a day trip no issue, 2 divers off the back tight but doable, 4 adults for a weekend is a different thing. You'd need to be very close and it will be very tight and would recommend that if that is a key purpose you look bigger or you will very soon after you buy it. If it's a couple of times a year for fun then you'll survive.
My only comment that I'm sure other will make is, your first boat is the one that shows you what you want in a boat but the first one doesn't and I'm sure you'll be looking for the second one after the first season.
Enjoy the search and the boat once you get it......

Hi. Have had mine for over 3 years now and love it. A very capable offshore boat and will meet all your criteria except accomodating four adults for more than an occational one night with tolerant friends. It is a great boat for cruising for two and we have lived on board for up to 2 weeks at a time. I have only used the double birth in the main cabin for a single person but i would guess it is 4ft wide so doable for a couple. Have already coast hopped from Solent to Essex and am planing to cross the North sea from Essex to Holland.

Thank you both for responses, hmm, thought one might be a bit tight for space, other boats I am considering is Merry Fisher 805 or a Beneteau Antares 9

805 is slightly bigger but we wouldn't want to take another couple with us. Antares 9 is a better proposition for 4. You get a proper bathing platform for the divers with these two.

I have the bunk cushions of my 760 home for the winter and, out of curiosity, measured the wheel-house seat cushion. It is actually only 36" wide , so a good single but only a double for small children.

Antares 9 is a great boat and has a large cockpit area for its size, would suit your diving requirements. Transom gate, decent size swim platform and boatding steps would all aid diver recovery.

Super sea boats for their size, we cruised on company with one for around 8 years, I was always impressed with it.

The TAMD41 200hp engine suits the boat very well and generally being unstressed is reasonably economical. I believe Beneteau sold very few of the 150s.
