Beneteau Antares 30 questions

Great boats. No need to limit yourself to 500 hours that’s like 15000 miles on a lorry. Overall condition far more important.
And make sure it has a stern thruster or budget £3-4 for one.
They are borderline unmanageable without one and they weren’t standard.
 
I see that the A30 was powered by both Yanmar 6LY3 and the Volvo D6. I’ve read somewhere that the exhaust mixing elbow on the Yanmar needs to be changed every 500 hrs! is that right!

I’ve no idea. I’ve been on 4, one of them I did quite a few hundred miles in and once in a F8, but they were all D6 powered.
 
I've recently bought an Antares 30 but have found it really difficult to handle so want to fit a stern thruster. Does anyone have any advice on what type to get and someone to fit it in the Poole area?

It’s tricky to fit without removing the fuel tank but it can be done. I’ve fitted a few.
The boat really needs one.
Paul Shotton can do it but he’d prefer you took the boat to a Southampton. Pm for number.
I used to fit max power as that was what was up front and I wanted the joy sticks to match.
they may have gone bust I don’t know.

Would you recommend any particular make of thruster? I think Purbeck Marine in Poole can supply max power so they must still be available. Does Paul supply and fit, or just fit?

Paul does supply and fit. I used to fit max power to Antares 30s but the max power tunnel won’t fit so it’s not straightforward. Paul knows what to do he’s done a few.
 
I have had a side power se40 stern thruster fitted by Rob Crowhurst. He travels.07849 069164.He is based in Crawley. Twin controls , remote control which works both stern and bow thrusters {Max power original}(brillant)and an additional battery.Best thing I've ever fitted.

Hi, most people I've spoken to have recommended the side power se40, but one company is suggesting the max power as they are the local distributor. I just wondered why you didn't choose max power as you had their bow thruster already fitted. ( I have a Quick bow thruster)
 
Hi All,

New to forums. Our A30 has a slight list to starboard. There is nothing out of the ordinary positioned to starboard and list exists with tanks both empty and full. Anyone else had this issue and/or any suggestions/reccomendations.
