Ladies and gentlemen,
The tube component of the keel lifting mechanism of my Beneteau 211 (built 1999) needs replacing because the female screw is badly worn and the bronze is going pink. I've contacted a reputable Beneteau dealer who tells me that a new lifting keel mechanism (apparently Beneteau don't sell the individual components) will be £842.57! This seems a hefty price for not much metal which doesn't have to be machined to very high standards. Does anyone know of where I can get the bit I need for rather less?
Thank you very much.
