I was playing on the EasyJet site and thinking Northern Ireland might be a nice place to locate the boat. Keep an old banger at Aldergrove, EasyJet are showing advance bookings at £4.50, I guess it depends if you can plan ahead and don't want to jump with the weather. On the other hand you could afford to book a few weekends. Can you get credit on the airport taxes if you don't fly?

Mind you, I've no idea what the costs are like, just musing.

We certainly got the taxes back from BA when we did not use the flight.

Hi

Just back from Belfast on business trip.. Went out Friday back Sunday --about £10 each of us return plus taxes : about £60 all in, but you pay it all up front and it never occurred to me that you could reclaim unused flights taxes - I shall enquire. Roy

Cheap flights are making for a whole lot of different scenarios now.

Ryanair will be flying into Granada from Liverpool and Stansted for 99 cents. Stansted to Almeria for 99 cents also.

Instead of a wife in each port, maybe a boat in each port?

I myself have just bought a boat at enniskillen.I,m going this weekend that i booked 6 wks ago going out of liverpool on fri @ 7.30 pm back sun. 9 pm £ 40 rtn.[5+10tax,15+10tax] car hire through easyjet £57 . Ive gone on fast cat from stranrea but cost at this peak time is approx £170 . Its for this reason I,m bringing the boat back to brighty as i want to use it more at weekends. The loch erne cruising area is fantastic and would recamend anyone the area as marina charges for my 32 fairline is £600 a year ,lift out £60, storage £10 a week on hard,no waterway charges,no regulations, and 150 miles of the Shannon

well Ryanair i hear (allegedly) make more money than soft mick from
selling flights at .90p return, with tax at upto £40 ish, passengers paying so little FOR THEIR FLIGHT often don't travel as they book at that price thinking well I might and might not travel. (plus of course Ryanair have your email etc for their database, normally reasonably costly to obtain) & then as the passenger hasn't travelled they don't need to pass the "tax" on, thus a tidy profit.

good job im using an alias on here !!

Good idea, but better to rent both!
