aaargh, was asleep due to the time difference in the US. Still racing back to the finish now. Went from 356 2 days ago to 474 now
1.5 hours to go back to the finish.

now finished #460. Started about 36 hours late, 1 day aground on the North African coast, 3 days stuck in the doldrums, then set a TWA course when I was #356, went out for the day and then the wind changed and dropped to #413. Went to sleep last night with a compass course set for the finish and...............missed it. Bu@@er. Oh well, on to the next leg. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mrs Fireball had a great race having started a week & a few hours late (got fed up with me constantly on the game - so decided to race too!)

SHe flew down through the doldrums and only really slowed down towards the end - gained 2 1/2 days .... ok - she did have different weather, but still - a quick sail !! I'll just have to ensure she doesn't beat me in the next leg!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

congrats jez on a good result. Would have liked to have stuck with you but work and travel and a dying laptop got in the way. Hope to do better in the next leg.
