Beer

What a beautiful morning. I'm off to the Basin (Heybridge) for the day to make an engine jig and spend a few hours of therapeutic sanding. If anyone fancies a lunchtime pint then I'm always easy to pry away from my work.... :)

Sounds like Heaven. Have a cracking day. ☀️

Those of us with our noses to the grind stone could do without posts like this :D

You'll be heartened to hear that I didn't go to the pub. The combination of enclosed space and Hempel's bilge paint meant I was high as a kite anyway.

You have a lovely boat by the way. My parents had an early Rival and it was the foundation for many happy memories. The eventual plan was that we'd sail to NZ but they decided to split instead!

Thanks, we have a couple of nippers who are growing up with the R34 and enjoying the East Coast

One of our earlier cruising memories is of meeting a family with a Rival 34 at the Rocks. They had 3 or 4 children. The father was German and the mother British. One of the children was called Boris, which seemed exotic at the time, and the father owned a small vineyard on the Rhine and gave us some of the wine. They were a lovely family and our children enjoyed playing with theirs but I don't think we ever met again. I do remember the boat interior with its lovely 'keyhole'.
