I am sure there will be plenty of local forumites and their friends who will be on the water.

All would be glad to show you the way but you will struggle to keep pace with me! (Normal means of transport has a 10hp Diesel Donk!max speed 6 knots but I could unleash the 18 knot flubber ride)

If you have skis I would be glad to offer my services to charitable sponsorship should you wish to tow me through the Swellies! (how strong is your transom?).

Cripes didn't realise you are planning to tow your vessel up here, dozy awld codger what I am
Still no problem as rushie said there is a park and launch facility and a 24/7 slip at Menai Bridge
Tiss neaps they say, which a shame really because the Swellies is best seen at springs.
However there enough spots to enjoy whatever the tides or winds
Great stuff if you can float yer own boat- like it, good on yer rb!

How long does it take for the visa application ?
And where do you recommend I should cross Offas Dyke [ Worries me that ]

I have booked the Black Boy Inn, [ slightly worrying..]
I hope I wont end up on a posh boat doing the washing up like last time. [ Even more worrying ]

Bring that Fletcher of yours up Rob, I may need a rescue on Sunday, Who knows where us southern folk will end up..
They will have the pot on already I expect.. Ian

You have to sneek close to Chester

Then as you by Pass said enclave of bladder belters yous have to face 'Cone Alley' which is Named on Maps an Sat Navs as the 'A 55' !!! Nothin 'A' about it at all, It is North Wales equive to the M25!!
However yer comes off of J 10 or j9 or j 8 or j 11, it wont matter by then anyway cos the Signs are in English and Welsh and you will be so Confused cos by then you will have been sent down a diversion anyway, so set off about late March

Now Sat Navs are a bit Sketchy in this neck of the woods
So a Tip
So if you encounter Range Rovers with low profile tyres and lots of Porches and that kinda stuff your navigation is 'off'
But if you see Landys and maybe me Jeep with the ars hangin out of them. You are deffo heading in the correct direction
If You see a stray Sheep on the road you have 'arrived'
Oh! if you do see one and manage to 'cajole' into your motor vehickle . pass it on Mate

I know it's a Mad idea, but it's an area on my 'bucket list' to visit one day and what better opportunity than to combine with meeting a great bunch of forumites? :)

No problem! We've got some ski's with last boat, but no bindings - we're not big on watersports I must admit - more akin to explorers - so they've not been used yet by us. You're certainly welcome to try - transom's fine, but also have a ski-pole... the big question is who's going to do the You-Tube video? :p

Only problem with a rescue is that range might be an issue.. How far's the Isle of Man? :cool:

May look at Hoylake or West Kirby..unless they have changed the boarders since my 1972 AA book

I had a natter with Mark in the Victoria Dock Office yesterday.
He has made a note in the Diary.(I think he wrote leave country!)
He will only need details of all boats hoping to come in a couple of days before the Event.

Good news is that I can now confirm my attendance..

Bad news is that my 1972 AA Members handbook has gone missing from the Morris minor glove box..

I have however found another map..

So I arrive at Durnovaria, go north to the Fosse Way

Travel through Corinium on to Veronis join Watling Street.

After Deva the trip to Segontium looks like a walk in the park..

I will march next Saturday...

That's a nice walk across the back of Penmaenmawr on the roman road. But do take a full complement with you cos the Druids can get spiteful if you are a bit light on numbers.
