Beer & a natter, STurday 2nd August.

Anyone up for a beer and a natter this coming Saturday (2nd August) at the lightship Haslar.

It is under new management this year and the food is excellent, an interesting setting floating in Portsmouth harbour. Obviously coming by boat would be ideal, plenty of space at Haslar as far enough away from Cowes !

In East Cowes now, thought we might see you here.

I will speak with Haslar on Tuesday to see if they want to offer a deal. There is. Gosport marina if you have reciprocal arrangement. Not too far to walk.

We left Gosport and moved to Swanwick after a couple of months due to Kerry feeling seasick every time she went down below decks. I would rather pay to be in Haslar than go back to Gosport for free.

Sorry for thread drift but I have to ask. What were you doing when I passed you in East Cowes yesterday about 4.30 ish? You looked like you were backing on to a hammer head space that was way to small for you!

We were given a reasonably tight berth on a finger towards the inside of G pontoon downstream. There was a fair ebb tide running through the marina so we backed into the tidal stream then reverse ferry glided fore-aft down the middle of the moored boats. It was a bit tight but nice and safe as we weren't going to get caught by the tide (the bow was already downstream). Once in line with our berth we reversed in and tied up.

We want to head West this weekend but the wind wants to take us East. At the moment Brixham Is the plan but If the wind wins We'll see you in Portsmuff. Either way hope to catch you soon while we still have our littlen.
