I`m about to take charge of Tazzie VII, a lift keel Sonata and want to keep it relativly near to the straits and am considering Beaumaris has anybody had any dealings with moorings in this area, its just that its £360 first year and £60 every year after that.....

Hi, we borrowed someone's mooring for a season a few years ago. It was great having no tidal window. We could get to it any time which took a lot of pressure off. The downside was that it was quite uncomfortable with the wind from the NE. Also, at low water, it's a long walk down to the water over the shingle. A 4 wheel drive would make things better. We joined the NW Venturers. They let you leave bulky things like outboards and tenders.

Contact North West Venturers, you may find a cheap drying mooring if you find the membership secretary!
