£8 to go shopping in a Jumble sale. I bet their will also be a queue on the way in. A queue to go shopping /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif and paying £8 to queue up to go shopping. £8. sadly I expect there will be a queue.

Those Somali's don't half get about /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Should I be going, or just not bother?

I note from the Boat Jumble Association website that all of the other venues are between £2.50 and £4.00....

Dont bother. You dont pay to go into Tesco so why should you pay to buy second hand tat, some of which has no doubt been nicked.

Nice to see the Johny-come- lately's on the South Coast, attempting to suggest that the Solent is the centre of the civilised world. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif .Should check the history books and find out where proper sailing started /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif about 70 years behind the E.|Coast.....'nuff said /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

No need to overcharge to keep me away from the south coast. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I say there!!! What on earth are you implying??

I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, so did try it, once!.

.....and they told me it was fairly quiet that weekend, being towards the end of the season! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Excellent. I see that Lord Montague's cunning "keep the riff-raff out of Beaulieu through the medium of creative pricing" plan continues to work well /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

It seems like the reverse to me. Normal admission to Beaulieu is £15.75. Perhaps the noble lord is hoping that all the jumblers and their kids will spend even more on the various tat for sale in his own retail outlets.

I would ask him but I guess he will be somewhere a little more warm and exotic than Hampshire next Saturday.

I don't know about April, but last year I was polishing my gelcoat in the yard at Buckler's Hard in February and an elderly gent who was wandering around came over and we chatted for a few minutes. It was only when he ambled away that I realised it was his Lordship. I wouldn't regard him as an absentee landlord and I think he spends most of his time at Beaulieu - but so would I, if I lived somewhere like that /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
