Hi. Is anyone aware of anywhere to buy discounted tickets for BBJ this year? I do hate having to pay for the privilege of spending money ;) !!! TIA.

£26.90 for two adults and a kid!

This event should be boycotted.

That would stop this ridiculous cynical profiteering in its tracks.

Legoland is £96 for the day if you book online in advance for the same party, what's your point?

Are there rides and log flumes at the boat jumble?
The ticket price includes admission to the House, the Park and the Beaulieu Car collection. It maybe lacking in log flumes and vomit inducing rides but it's a great day out and good value in its own right with the added benefit of a huge boat jumble. Beaulieu organise several other specialized events such as a car jumble on appropriate dates. These events provide the non participating family members the opportunity to have a good day out whilst the enthusiasts in the family can enjoy their specialised jumbles without having to drag round less enthusiastic family members!

Cheers, Brian.

That's fine, but in my limited experience (I've only been to BJJ once, but I was already on the south coast with tickets in hand when last it was cancelled last year!) you aren't doing the boat jumble full justice if you have time to take advantage of this generous admission package! If I want to the see the House, Park, etc. I will make it a separate day trip, and I would imagine the vast majority of boat jumble attendees would do the same?

If I drive from West Wales to Beaulieu to go to the Boat Jumble then I simply would not have time to see the House, Car Museum, grounds etc. So the entrance fee is huge for what it is for me. No, I am not going.

Sorry, it is still cynical and opportunist marketing. It is dressed up by including the House and Grounds etc which 'justifies' the entrance fee. In reality those who go to the BJ will go nowhere near the other attractions; and they know that. If everybody who attended the BJ went to the Motor Museum as well it would burst at the seams.

If they go nowhere near the other attractions, why should they pay for them?

For those who want to go to the other attractions, let them pay separately. If I stood outside Selfridges charging you £10.00 to walk through the door but giving you a ticket to Madame Tussauds would you be happy?

£9.70 per adult, or £8.50 in advance.

If you go with wife and child, it isnt that amazing that it then costs more.
£26.90 for a family day out? Sounds pretty cheap. What does a fast food meal for three, cost.. £15? And thats gone in 5 minutes.

For us it would not be a family day out! It would be another day of sniffing around junk hoping for a bargain. Not going to pay £26.90 for that; sorry.

But that's the point... it isn't a 'Day out', it's a day shopping!! The Selfridges analogy is bang on.

And that's one - only one - of the reasons we don't buy take away 'fast food'! Freshly made cheese rolls and Hula Hoops (other crisps are available!!!) are the way to go. :)

Went once 20 odd years ago. Too far to do in one day, so cost of fuel, hotel etc nulled out any 'savings' on any stuff bought. Did it with friends so treated as a weekend jolly. Wouldn't bother again though. Loads of other really good jumbles around the country methinks.

I went once and to be honest stuff wasn't really that cheap. A bit of hunting on the net normally brings a saving with free delivery. The jumble at Victoria Park Netley is supposed to be just as good with "jumble" prices and not the "retail prices" of Beaulieu

Agreed, if you can make a day of it .... it's great value for money.
2 -3 hours in the Jumble,
2 -3 hours in the museum
Perhaps an one to do the rest
(but I do understand it is annoying if you are priced out of the jumble by the bundled ticket price)
