Top Gear did a test couple of months back to discover how fast a vehicle had to
go to beat a speed camera,
If I remember correctly the magic figure is 147mph, like I say if I remember correctly!
If you should test this figure and get done, please do not blame me !!!!!!!!

Purely circumstatial evidence

I saw advice some time ago which advised returning the forms with a covering letter advising that you are unable to determine who was driving at that time, or even if your actual vehicle was at that place at that time.

It then becomes the job of the police to prove that it was your car bearing that registration and not purely circumstantial evidence, given the rapid rise in car cloning due to speed camera activities.

Jet Urban Myth

It was once told that a Northumberland Police patrolman locked onto a Vauxhall Carlton on the A1 close to a stretch by the coast.

Unfortunately the radar gun display suddenly shot up to 500+mph, became unintelligible and the radar gun then expired without recording a reading.

They had no alternative but to give chase but could find no cause for this phenomenon within the vehicle in question and were forced to let the driver continue uncharged.

A few days later the Chief Constable received a letter from a nearby RAF base advising that a jet flying up the coast had engaged the radar gun, automatically jammed it, and fortunately the pilot had overridden the instantly armed air to surface missile that had locked on and was waiting for a twitch of his thumb on the stick!

You have the right to remain silent.....

Court of Human Rights

You have the right not to incriminate yourself.

It is up to the police to prove it was that actual car, and who was driving.

Re: Oi!

Same generation - I nearly said that but wasn't sure how to spell it, perhaps Pennti would have done! - I always thought Timo was the maddest of the bunch
