These have been around for quite a few years, they are neither a good sailboat or a good motorboat. Even if going nowhere the accomodation is poor for a 26 footer of either persausion. Think its best to decide what you really want to do most of the time and buy a proper Sail or Mobo, its a bit like one of them multi tools ok for an occasional small job but if its anything serious you need a proper tool.
These are definitely not one thing or the other, (are they Jasion) wharp!! . Think of the fun you could have with the Solent Rig, your cone up and going along doing 22knots Ha Ha Ha!
Really couldn't comment on the MacGregor but we do have an article in the Dec issue that might be of interest. With all the fuel issues and arguments, we've pitched a 7 - 8 knot mobo against a sailboat for a cross Channel (Hamble to Cherbourg) race. Who'll win? How much fuel will each boat have to use?
