Would anyone happen to know if there is a beach in walking distance to Cartagena marina.

There is Cala Cortina. Tiny and crowded in the summer but fun. A couple of bars next to it and decent views.
It's a good 30-40 min walk though. Come out of the marina and turn right, then just follow the sea. There is a tunnel that you aren't allowed to cycle through for some daft reason, so if you cycle you have to carry your bike up and over. Stupid.

Thanks for that, I thought that was where the beach was, looking on Google Earth.
