I suggest you got to ;

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/front_page/2823681.stm

Then you might choose to send a message along these lines;

May I congratulate you on your totally inept coverage of Olympic Sailing.
Which idiot was in charge of this ?
How much is he paid ?
You will now send me an automated response and try to pretend I never sent you this message.

Thanks for the link. Just been there and blasted off. That helped to reduce my b.p. from sitting through 50 minutes of horses jumping to get the advertised 5 minutes of sailing only to be assaulted by about a minute of rock music accompanying a serise of 1.5 second jump-cuts. Most of the time was spend on a banal commentary by some clueless woman. No sexism intended, but why not use someone who has actually done some sailing?

Actually all the commentary is pretty crap. but at least in the running and jumping stuff they have got rid of the guy who was always going on about "kickers" in the running. Finally, I cannot beleive that I wasted 15 minutes of my life last night waiting to see a race that lasted less than ten seconds.

I sent an email lambasting them and received the following.... a good it's not my problem scenario.....

Hi,
Thanks for your email. Sailing has been covered extensively on the BBC's terrestrial and interactive TV, radio and web services. I'm sorry you are not happy with the coverage we have provided, but as I am sure you will appreciate, the BBC has a commitment to cover as many of the multitude of sports at the Olympics as possible, which inevitably means we are unable to offer blanket broadcasts of individual sports.

Regards
Ben

Yes I agree with you 'world would be a better place if we binned the box IMHO' but there were only 3 events that I really wanted to watch Rowing, Equestrian and Sailing, which were never ever aired when they were scheduled and the amount of time of the coverage was minimal compared to the medals these events won.
IMHO if I am a 'sad git' for wanting to watch the sailing team in something that only happens every 4 yrs then so be it....

In fairness, the sailing scheduling has been difficult with the light winds forcing many postponements and abandonments of races.....

Its not been great coverage, but way better than previous Olympics.

Go back 3 or 4 Olympics, and the rowing was hardly covered... now its one of the highlights.... if Messrs Ainslie, Glanfield, Rogers, etc and Ms Roberston and clan carry on as they are, then maybe we'll benefit from the same 'public interest' for Beijing (and London - fingers crossed)
