HI, I have a deposit on a Bayliner 175GT (2011), it is in good condition, but I'm paying 23k for it. Is this too much?
If not would it resell for around this or significantly less?
Thanks, Theo.

Hi, yes I have some photos of it, has fresh water use only not sure on hours, but all things look in good Nic.

Too late if you have paid a deposit
You should get 2 for that price.
HI, I think the deposit is refundable, Is this price inflation due to COVID. If so, will this affect the resale of it in 3-4 years, leading to around a 10k loss then? Or will the value drop very little?

I don't know where you are planning to use it but I wouldn't use a bowrider of that size on the Solent.. You will scoop some big green waves!

It looks a clean and tidy boat but I think its probably worth £17k even in the current market. You will not buy 2 boats like that for £23k in the current market however!

Prices are inflated due to covid, they may fall back a bit but with new entrants in the market seeking anything and everything, this is pushing up prices.

Depending on how keen you are to go boating this season you should perhaps consider backing out and looking around a bit.....

Did it cost that new? I think that it is a lot for an inboard (I’m assuming it’s a 135 with an alpha drive). It is a fresh water boat so only take it to sea on calm days. An outboard would be a better bet. Get some ear muffs so you can fresh water flush her (unless it’s got a flush connector built in). And don’t forget to put in the drain plug before you launch her?. Check that the bilge pump works because it’s the only drainage you have in the event of a wave over the front. Keep the trailer serviced, see if you can waterproof the wheel bearings.
On the plus side, it’s the boat that we all started on??

Your wrong about Solent use I have the T, shirt unless you use boats stupidly of course. Referring to Regal here.

I'm looking at using it on Lake Windermere(fresh water), as I go there frequently and spend most my summer there, I feel that 2011 Is probably the oldest I'd go for, and most boats I've seen are getting sold in an instant. It'll be my first boat, after a 21.5ft sailing boat that we didn't use much as it was too much of a chore to get out.
I think the price is further escalated due to the location(very touristy) but I don't fancy travelling to Devon etc where most boats for sale seem to be at the moment(that I've looked at).
I'm also worried that due to the amount of boats being sold, that all moorings are going to get scooped up very quickly, and I don't really fancy towing it.

Bayliner is fine on the lake

Remember there is a speed limit on Windemere now - given it's main role is towing skiiers etc, will you be able to use it as it was designed?
Hi, I've been on windermere a while now(in RIB's etc) but feel like this will be fine, as people in the family feel like RIB's are not as good in waves etc, even though they probably handle waves better than a Bayliner, but we are looking at a bowlder more for cruising and chilling.
On this note would the two rear speakers be loud enough for us to hear underway, or would I need to upgrade them, or add some more in.
Thanks.

Speakers have been banned on all boats. They upset my peace and quiet

Hi, is this a ban on windermere specifically, or Nationwide?
I was unaware they had been banned.

I have read through the Lake Windermere bylaws, and there is no mention of a Speaker Ban...
