is there anybody out there that owns a recently bought bavaria mine is only 18 months old, that has bubbles under the gel coat or worse in the laminate, my boat was pulled in july this year for its first anti-foul since commisioning in april 03 and the bubbles were discovered. please e-mail me with any info and results

I would immediately contact the distributor and insist they 'remedy' the problem - if it is osmosis surely it's covered under warranty?

I have a Bavaria 38 which was launched in March of 2003.
It was taken out last winter and had antifouling applied and I did not notice any problems with the gelcoat. It will be coming out again at this weekend for the winter and I will check to see if there is any damage and let you know.

As a fellow owner of a sister ship of similar age, I would be very interested to hear your findings.

Lets hope it is nothing serious.

We have a 1999 Bav 42 Ocean and found pinholes in the gel coat during anti-fouling in June 04. The largest holes were 3mm dia, and one was very soft around the edges. These were filled, sanded and painted, so hopefully we have caught the problem in time.

I have a B42cc (98) and had major problems with the rudder stock rotting. Serious corrosion and had to have new rudder 2.5k!!! Suggest galvanic isolator!!! Might be worth checking. Outside of that gel coat seems fine

I have B 40 2001. For hull ( osmosis) Bavaria gives 5 years warranty so go ahead.
On my hull I do not see any problems. I have only a relatively strong corrosion on kiel even I cover it with epoxy primer 2 years ago.
