Bavaria 36 battery isolator

a mate has emailed me with a question- the boat is a bavaria 36 with separate domestic and engine start battery banks. However only seems to be one isolator switch which is a single pole but isolates both sets of batteries. the only way this would seem possible is if the switch is in the -'ve side of the battery leads? Not the usual way to arrange battery isolation but I suppose it would work. he has a problem as the switch has gone faulty and he isn't sure how a single pole switch can be used for both battery sets. Each of the two switch connectors has two battery cables connected.

Anyone out there with a bavaria XX who can throw any light on the wiring?

Hi, I don't understand the electrical part of the question ...I just turn my switch on and lo... I have power, but I have a 34 and I'm sure the wiring chart is on board. I would happily copy this for you if nec. but TonyS has a 36.

I have a Bav 36. You are right that, like all Bavarias of that vintage, the negative lead is switched by the battery isolator. Both negative battery leads are connected together. I have a wiring diagram if you send me a pm with your e-mail address.
