Bavaria 30+ whole boat winter cover

Hello,

I have a Bavaria 30+, built year 1995 that I would like a full winter cover for. Since it is a industrially manufactured boat that has been produced for some time, I hope that some company already has the right dimensions, I am kindly asking if someone has some contacts of companies doing this in UK/Europe.

Since Europe is rather a large place it might be better to specify where your boat is. Is it in UK/England and if so which part?

Thanks for replying so fast. Boat is actually in Mediterranean and my whole idea is buying the cover based on dimensions the company already has and so that I could basically buy it over the internet.

"Overall cover" is a sweeping term as there are many ways of doing it - for example, mast up or mast down? ; cover just the deck or hull as well?

I am not aware of anybody who makes off the shelf covers like this (or indeed other types of canvas work). Almost always custom made to fit the boat and the owner's requirements. The choices are to find a local canvas worker where your boat is - anywhere there are a reasonable number of boats will have at least one or find one local to where you live and somebody else's boat to measure. Just as an example, I had a Bavaria 33 and one of our local canvas workers used it to measure for a cover for a customer with the same boat, but 150 miles away.

This company cjmarine.co.uk/model/bavaria-30-plus/ made all the canvas work for the Bavaria importer up to about 2010 and as you can see has some covers listed for your model. worth talking to them as they may have the dimensions for making an overall cover or could tell you what measurements you need to make.

All the canvas work on my Bavaria was made by this company tecsew.com/page/5/?s=Bavaria&post_type=boat_covers (the Bavria 33 tonneau cover which I used in the winter is my boat) and they are excellent quality.

That is a good example showing how much variety there is in overall covers. Such things are custom made and no reason why any competent canvas worker cannot make one - just needs access to the boat and discussion with the owner as to what he wants. Overall covers are not particularly common as to be effective and long lived there are expensive because of the amount of labour involved in making them fit around all the things that stick out on a boat with the mast up and capable of withstanding extreme winter weather. Well worth it if you have a wooden boat or lots of varnish and teak on the deck, but questionable value on a GRP boat.
