Battling the Bugs

Wasn't it Nivea who produced a 'Deoderant' that unintentionally was an effective repellant ?

Mossies .... living with river at bottom of garden - they are a factor ...

We use the sprays sold in Supermarket ... seems to work ..

To avoid getting into eye's / mouth etc - I spray onto hand and then wipe face .... I also spray hair / neck etc - as well as arms / legs etc.

I think that is Avon Skin So Soft you are thinking of.

These bats are effective and quite fun too!

Yes ... Avon !

Must admit that I had a battery powered 'bat' for a while .... the fun soon wore off though ....

Citronella .... a natural repellant ... despite labels on various - very few items have real Citronella ... most is articial and not as effective. Real Citronella is quite an expensive item ...
If you can accept the aroma and 'smoke' of the repellant rings - they can be used ......

Years of research in S.E.Asia: a glass 1/2 full of a Gin and Ice, then the 2nd half with Gin alone, never tonic though as it attracts the wee flying b'stards, topped with some fresh lime, especially to alleviate scurvy when in the Hebs.
This mixture should only be drunk, never rubbed in as it starts rumours.
