Battery terminals for double cables

Did anyone else wince when they saw the metal strap holding the battery down appearing to be close to both batter terminals in the example picture? If it was on a boat, a knock down, or the clamp becoming lose and the battery moving for whatever reason could see some dramatic action!

6 volt battery then?

Even so the clamp bar looks like its in the middle.

I'd at least wrap it in several layers of insulation tape ...... not 100% but its what i have done with a similar battery clamp

Actually not, it's an Optima (I think), terminals are in line more or less central.

The potential problem with these multi connection battery terminals is that it is too easy to bypass any shunt you may have to measure current or battery capacity thus giving a false reading of what is happening to the state of the battery
