I have domestic batteries with the usual round posts and also a stud.

Can anyone tell me the thread size for the stud?

It is close to M8 but not metric, I suspect.

Thanks

If it looks like M8 but it's imperial, it will be 3/8" UNC.

Some battery terminals are also M10, but i'm sure you can tell the difference between 8 and 10 mm :)

The Lucas batteries I fit have 3/8" studs on. I had some Banner batteries that had a large and a smaller one on - these were an imperial size also. Would have thought we'd have caught up to metric sizes on by now. Had a customer shear a stud off by trying to wind an M8 onto the terminal.....

I like the Victron and Lifeline AGM's as they have a flat tab with a hole for an M8 nut and bolt.

Hi M8 converts to 5/16" and M10 converts to 3/8".

I have Battery Megastore batteries, 105AH from memory and they have M8 studs for both positive & negative terminals(as well as the usual round terminal posts)
