Battery Explosion!!!!!

What was the verdict here?

Checked on a customers boat today and ooops, BIG battery explosion.
Acid everywhere.
Looks like the very expensive Mastervolt charger is at fault.
Won't know until I can get our sparky to look at it on Tuesday.

Well the jury is still out.
We checked the charger and that seems fine, we checked the solar regulator and that seems fine as well.
The Battery itself was not that old, maybe 4 or 5 years.
There's a new battery in place and we're checking a couple of times a day and all seems ok.

One thing for sure is it made a hell of a mess and acid damage on lots of painted parts even after liberal washing.

Strange that is almost always batteries left permanently on charge & unattended that blow up.
