help ,in a senior moment i cant remember what a battery charger for shore power is called,and if you have any idea of a good suplier that to would be usefull,thanks.Kieron

Its a battery charger, or am I missing something? What number and type of batteries are involved?

There is a differance, for years we supplied Sealine with battery chagers, they charged up to 14.3 volt. But as all the other builders were fitting simple 13.6 volt chargers, Sealine followed suit, these were called shore support.
So a shore support provides power when shore AC is available at a float voltage, a battery charge goes to high voltage to charge a battery, then goes to a float support voltage.
Though in this case I think he means a charger.

sorry not well explained,i want to run my d/c 12 volt.app. from shore power 230volt a/c app.

I have a Sterling fast charger and I think it does just what you want, once the batteries ar charged up, it supplies all the 12v I need without touching the batteries.

Just found the instructions for my Sterling ProCharge - the POWERPACK functions is described as "Full current is available for on-board supply" during the float stage.

Thats what I said, the charger's we built back in 1985 supplied full power in float mode for domestic loads.

Back to the thread, what is your DC loading ? that is average and max
For low loads and intermitant use a cheap car charger may be all you need.
