I have an oldish Folk boat and looking for liability insurance.
I was pointed towards Basic Boat.
In reading the policy it states craft must be kept in a "sound condition" .
Not come across this before as always believed craft must be seaworthy.
What is the difference in legal speak?

When I was UK based - I used Basic Boat ...

Sound condition .... remember that BB also covers you for Wreck Removal ... if you boat sinks in a marina / mooring - so if boat is not of sound condition - ie floats - then you are contrary to cover. Sound condition does not necessarily mean seaworthy condition ... although if you clobber another boat / quay etc and BB have to pay out - if your boat is not in reasonable sound useable condition - you may have some explaining to do.

BUT in all fairness .. its insurance and its fair priced .. and IMHO fair cover.
