Your barometer should be set (in stable conditions) at the place where it is intended to be used. That way it will indicate the corrected sea level pressure. If you use it in your house then that is where you should set it. Do not take it down to sea level to set it because when you get it home it will read lower. I live on a 300ft hill and there (at 27ft /mb) the pressure is 11mb lower than at sea level. If I were to set my baro at sea level to 1013 then when I get it home it will read 1002.
