Re: Oi !!!

No, no no, I was just trying to calm oldgit down since he seems to be accusing poor arthur of crawling. Sorry you took it the wrong way.

Re the piccie. Soon pauline. Soon.
You'll just have to hold your breath and wait

re:crawling

Hey, oldb-----d, sorry, oldgit, when I was at school, crawling meant I anticipating something in return. I don't think that's the case here, although an old fart can still fantasise!!

Re: Old duffer, old duffer!!!

How dare you you whippersnapper! I'm neither too old to appreciate a beautiful face, nor too old to ride a bike 70 miles in 5 hours, nor to be able to read the writing on a Sweet and Low packet without glasses, nor, um, what did you say?

Re: Chivalry

Pauline - judging by some of the comments here, I guess the age of chivalry in the UK is long gone. Such a shame. To me a lady is a lady, even if she does include bollox in her vocab
:-) But then again, I'm VERY old and was brought up differently from them young-uns.

Re: Chivalry - Not dead

Disagree Arthur chivalry is not dead in the UK, it's just very, very poorly. There are still those out there who hold doors, seats etc.. for ladies but it is a dying event.

Re: Chivalry - Not dead

Chivalry - Not dead - well that's a relief Barry!
It's gone over here, largely because of PC etc so that men are scared to be chivalrous. Had an instance in my early days in the US when a sales manager accompanying a female sales rep on a day's training opened the car door for her and had a sexual harassment complaint made against him because of it.

Re: Thank God

In fact I am glad you have changed the pic as the oher one was sending my imagination into overdrive. Not a bad pic but not how I pictured you from your witty posts as you look to solemn.

Re: on yer bike

Harley my foot! Trek carbon fibre! Could go faster if I could get a few pounds off me. Seem to be stuck at 225/16st, but I am 6'1" (and shrinking).
