I've seen some photos of the barge sinking in the medway as mentioned on ECP website (prints unfortunately so can't share). Very dramatic and nearly took the tug with it. Its one of the big jobs usually moored near the entrance to Stangate I think. I could see a pair of floating cranes on the river today between the Kingsnorth jetty and Darnet fort so I guess thats where.

Medway Ports have issued another NtM this afternoon, declaring an exclusion zone between Darnet Ness and the sunken barge.
I've added it to the first one that was referenced in the News item on the ECP homepage.
I guess they will get this barge raised PDQ but in the meantime, take care!

One of my mates almost went between the 2 yellow markers that had been pulled under by the tide a couple of weeks ago.

Pre warned, I kept an eye out a couple of days after and it is now a mass of yellow marks.

The keep to the North instruction is, on viewing it's position from the water, not the most natural thing to do, as it appears closer to the Kingsnorth side than the Folly.

Am sailing on Friday afternoon and will report anything interesting.

Looking from the road over the peninsular above Kingsnorth today, the crane barges appear to have gone (they were still there last week), does this mean the barge has been raised or is it like JAWS (I think we're goin' to need a bigger crane!)
